Introduction to Helicopter Aerodynamics & Dynamics
Few machines have evolved as dramatically as the helicopter. From the earliest prototypes drawn by Leonardo Da Vinci in the late 1400s and the 'gyroplane' models of the early 20th century to the modern incarnations used for fighting forest fires, transporting tourists, or reporting traffic conditions (among many other uses), the helicopter is a true marvel of engineering science — and still, very few people actually understand how they work. This 26-video lecture series is instructed by C. Venkatesan, a professor in the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur's Department of Aerospace Engineering. Students begin the course with an introduction to principles of physics, and then tackle more complex theories related to aerodynamic technology. You'll never look at a chopper in the sky the same way again.
