Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), was founded in 1951 at the site of the Hijli Detention Camp. Today, it boasts six schools, eighteen academic departments, and five centers of excellence. Degree programs range from subjects such as Aerospace Engineering to Materials Science to Infrastructure Design and Management. IIT Kharagpur offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
